MigrainesHave you been struggling with headaches? There are many types of headaches but  a migraine headache has a throbbing or pulsing sensation in any area of the head. Migraines are usually accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Many attacks can cause pain for hours. Migraines can be debilitating for some people where they are unable to function and others press their way through the pain but are miserable in the process. Migraines can be caused by a variety of items some of the common ones are listed but they are not limited to list below.


Foods. Salty foods and processed foods may trigger migraines. Skipping meal can also trigger attacks.

Drinks. Alcohol and highly caffeinated beverages may trigger migraines.

Sensory stimuli. Bright lights and staring at a computer screen all day can induce migraines. Unusual smells including perfume or secondhand smoke can trigger migraines in some people.

Medications. Oral contraceptives can aggravate migraines in women.

Hormonal dysfunction

Changes in barometric pressure

Dental problems

Nutritional deficiencies

Ten percent of our patients occasionally have a migraine but the intensity is much less and patients are still able to function without any prescribed medication.
